Bouquet of Love

Bouquet of Love

A Poem by Skylah Ginette

I plant your love

In a hollow

In the ground.

I had taken your rose

In a moment of repose,

But now I shy

From the wide open sky

In your wild blue eyes.

I bury these thoughts

And fly home through the meadow,

Missing flowers

That could have been.

It rains in the dark

Of the new moon.

The rain seeps

Through the soil

To restore your roots.

The universe

Tends your seed.

You sprout from the storm

And stare into my soul.

I cannot flee

From this valley,

Your wild roses

Overcome me.

I can no longer deny

Your bouquet.
