Carnivorous Wind

Carnivorous Wind

A Poem by Skylah Ginette

Haggard trees with gnarled bark

Droop; tired from the night before

When wild, untamed tempests tore

Tiny, tender leaves from twigged fingertips,

Leaving battered, broken branched bare-

Bones stripped clean

By a hungry wind.
