The Omniscient Sky

The Omniscient Sky

A Poem by Skylah Ginette

The wisest ones

Are the stars.

They will outlast the eons.

They are unblinking,

Unfailing.

They are impartial

To our trials,

To our triumphs.

They have seen our self destruction.

I wonder if they pity us.

Still, they guide us,

Through city lights

And toxic clouds.

How selfless are the stars

To shine so bright,

Even though

We challenge the night.

They know we need them,

Without the stars,

We wouldn't have wishes.
