Time

It seemed so slow,

         life's pacing.

We wanted it to go faster

              we were racing.

But we reached that inevitable threshold,

                                                         you and I.

You were gone too soon, my friend,

                                                 I miss you.

Time went by too fast...

                                 Good bye.

Musically pleasing, poetically pleasing, aesthetically profound (and interesting, at that....really plays with the regret and repentance of having raced through time with all the line breaks and spacing). Fantastic. My only comment is the "my friend" in "you were gone too soon my friend" seems a little too wordy for the musicality, and it doesn't seem necessary when a whole lot of power is already in "you were gone too soon - I miss you." Other than that, I applaud this wholeheartedly! Well done!

Something I can relate to. I lost a friend to suicide. The time for our friendship was way too short.
