A better human

Life form known as Homo sapiens
Pinnacle of Darwin Selection
Or are we,
The so call human.

Many are born as human
But live as inhuman
Many claims to be human
But act inhumane
Am I a better human
I don't know.

If i can admit my mistakes and apologise
I am a better human
Coz it takes more courage than denial.
If I can truly listen and reflect on others' criticism
I am a better human
Coz it takes more courage to change our perspectives
If I can accept others' uniqueness
I am a better human
Coz it is harder to accept differences than similarities
If I can keep an open mind and not be governed by biases
I am a better human
Coz being tolerant is harder than casting blame.

I don't know if I am a better human.
But I will strive to be one.
Compromising is not a weakness
It is the foundation of peace
Because no one is perfect
We can only be a better us than yesterday.
