My Beautiful and Withered Rose

My Beautiful and Withered Rose

A Poem by ~ P e o n ~

My dearest rose
I've watched you grow
So much, that caring for you
Is the only life I know

I know you dream
Of a life outside
Though your scared of getting stepped on
So that is why you hide

Though my dearest and lovely rose
Please don't stay any longer with me
I can't take care of you any more
Since I've become so weak

Though your petals are wilting
Do not throw away your life
I know you yearn to leave here
Because everyday I've watched you cry

I cant just watch anymore
So please go, I beg of you
Even if I never get to share
Of how my love for you grew

I'd taken care of you
For such a long time now
That I can't remember when we met
Or even how

Though we may have forgotten
Our melancholy past
We both knew this life of ours
Could never really last

So as you leave me now
You may never really know
Of how I'd come to love
Such a withered yet beautiful rose
