While You Were WaitingA Poem by ~ P e o n ~A boy confesses to a girl, only to get rejected.
Laughing till we cried
Defending me with all you've got I knew it wouldn't last forever But it was nice thought Cheering me up When I wasn't okay Staying with me So I wasn't lonely all day I turned you down Thinking everything would be alright But you had changed, transformed When we met the next night "I'm so stupid." My mind, played on repeat How could I let you slip away Right beneath my feet? I see you sometimes You smile more now But my eyes can't seem To meet your face somehow What should I do? I'm far too confused I think I'm love With this cold-hearted you I know you know it Oh your so cruel To let me stumble and fall Like I'm some kind of fool I know I deserve this There's no doubt in that But don't you at least feel A tiny bit bad? You avoid all situations That state all the facts I think it's because You miss what we had You don't wanna admit it But you can't deny what's true You still love me and I've grown to love you Stop playing hard-to-get That's way overdue I swear I'll make you give in If you dare to continue Why are you so stubborn? But I guess I'm the same Here comes my confession Don't take it in vain My lips speak the words In which you had whispered to me Of what was once long ago Seemed now more like a dream You looked a bit skeptical As I finished my piece So I explained it from the beginning Then got up to leave Thinking I was rejected My heart shattered like glass But suddenly you called my name And made me turn back You wrapped your arms around me Saying,"You're late." And so I replied, thankfully "Didn't think you'd wait." I smiled at you With tears in my eyes And when you looked back at me I felt my heart start to rise Your hands cupped my cheeks And brought my lips to yours And although I used to doubt it I knew we'd be forevermore
