chapter seven

Chapter 8

 

The night went fast which I’m glad because I was very worried about the zombies just a couple of hours away. But I had the strangest dream. Devin and I were together which was weird because to me I don’t think about him that way. But it was kind of pleasant.

Then I woke up to somebody screaming. Of course it was Lisa, she was bleeding again well not exactly bleeding but the vomit was red and it smelled like blood. This was the best smell ever since I’m a vampire. I just had to control myself I couldn’t feed on my friends that would be scary. Even though my throat was burning and I was very thirsty I walked away and ran out the woods as fast as I could. Then I came across a deer. I hunted it down and drank its blood it didn’t taste as good as the human blood would but at least my thirst will be gone. I feed on about five deers and one lion on my way back.

Devin was right behind me which was weird because I never heard him behind me not only that but he was covered in blood too. Then I heard a voice in my head or mind you could say.

I wasn’t following you I was feeding too. Is that when I woke up I smelled the blood and I panicked.

 

That was Devin, talking in my head?

 

“What you you just and then you-“I stuttered my way through I didn’t even know what to say I was in shock.

“Sorry I know it’s weird but I can talk to you in your head and not only that I can read minds” Devin said he sounded excited and he had the biggest cutest smile.

 

“Is fine, but how do you, well you have a gift” I said.

“Yeah I guess but you do too” Devin said he grabbed my hands and placed them in my eyes.

“Can you still see?” ha asked.

Yes.

“Okay your eyes are shot and I’m covering them but you can see with your eyes shot not only that you get glimpses of the future” explained Devin. Now he was serious but he still sounded excited.

“That’s so cool! How do you know? Actually never mine” I said I was excited now and smiling I couldn’t get rid of my big smile it was weird but it felt good.

 

“I can see everything in your mind” said Devin turning away.

“Even the thoughts…. Or dreams you’ve had” said Devin now his eyes fell he looked sad but confused.

“So, you saw the dream I had last night? Didn’t you?” I said I was serious but I had the same worried look he had now.

“Yes” said Devin.

 

I had a flash back of my dream and I was happy I liked that dream. But I didn’t think he would be mad at it or worried about it now that I thought of it. But then I noticed what I thought when I woke up. I had said that would be weird for him and I to be together.

 

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to_” he cut me off.

“Your apologizing for dreaming the best dream you ever had? I meant to talk to you about this but I couldn’t find a way so I made up a dream in your head while you were sleeping and I guess you did dream it” said Devin.

Now I understood he probably felt guilty or should I? He was in love with me? So many questions.

“No and yes” he said.

Right. He was answering the questions in my head. So no he didn’t feel guilty and neither should I and yes he was in love with me. And now I knew I was too. But I never knew it was in that way I used to think of him as a brother.

I know it’s weird but I couldn’t control myself. And I know you feel the same way. But if you don’t want this I can leave.

Devin’s voice in my head was soft and apologizing. But I felt the same way and of course I wanted to be with him but I couldn’t.

Why not? He asked.

“I don’t want to break your heart in tiny little pieces.” I said.

You’re not going to because I know so and I’m going to be in your head for a while so if you were I would stop it from happening.

Of course he will. But I wouldn’t like someone to be in my head all the time and controlling my thoughts every now and then like the ruled it.

I’m not going to be doing that. You can block me you know and when you want me in like right now you can let me and if not you can close the door.

Interesting. Now how would I do that? He made it sound so easy but it wasn’t.

Of course it is I’m going to give you a necklace and all you have to do is have it with you and if you want me in you may take it off.

Alright then. Of course I would love too. But not now not today if I survive this mess then yes. And if we make it out of here before the zombies eat us alive or the darkness in the walls gets us. Then yes I would be flattered.

“YES!!!!” yelled Devin.

I laughed it was funny. He seemed very happy.

“Then I would do anything to keep you alive” sad Devin.

“Of course” I said with a big white smile.

Then I started to walk to the small house where everyone was supposed to be. Then when Devin and I walked in Legarious was dead and Lisa had blood on her shirt and mouth and when I looked at Luis he was scared.

She drank his blood. She couldn’t resist the smell.

Said Devin in my head.

“I’m sorry it just smelled so good and I’m new at this I couldn’t” said Lisa. She started crying and not only that she looked scared.

“You guys left and didn’t do anything the blood wasn’t vomit it was his” she said looking toward Legarious corpse.

“is okay we understand I’m a vampire too and so is Devin” I said.

“I’m not I’m one of them” she said.

My eyes opened wide really wide now I was scared even do she might not kill me but she was still here why didn’t she leave.

“I’m sorry I didn’t” she cut off. Well not exactly I wasn’t listening anymore I was listening to Devin now.

She’s a vampire but she’s scared she thinks she’s a zombie instead.

“No. you’re not a zombie you’re a vampire I can smell you from here and zombies don’t drink blood they eat the body with it” I said.

“Are you sure?” she asked.

I looked at Devin and he nodded.

“Yes” I put my hand in front of me so she can get up.

“It’s going to be okay will get out of here and I’ll teach you how to keep control” I said.

Luis smiled he was impressed and happy and I knew that because Devin told me.

A very strong chapter. I like the pace and the detail. To change into something different would be a hard way to go. A excellent chapter. I look forward to see where you are heading with this story.
