Darkness between the walls(chapter four)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chapter 4

 

We had so much food it would last for a month and if we only ate twice or once everyday it would last two and a half month. At least we won’t starve to death.

Luis wasn’t moving he looked like a statue in the floor. It was awkward all of us were worried. We were all staring at him. He didn’t have a pulse you couldn’t feel his heart, but then he moved and woke up.

“What?” asked Luis in shock.

“You weren’t breathing” said Devin.

“Obviously” said Luis. Luis stood up and walked across the room and sat down. He was smiling but a really small sharp smile.

“What do you mean?” asked Mellissa.

“You a zombie man! Not cool” said Legarious.

“No I am not a zombie....... you haven’t told your friends?” said Luis.

“No I barely know them” I said. I really couldn’t tell them they’ll think I’m crazy.

“Oh I see” said Luis.

“Told us what?” asked Mellissa.

“Is none of your business Mellissa. I don’t mean to be rude but is something between her me and Luis.” Said Devin.

“So you do trust him” said Mellissa.

“No he just knows more about us than you guys and his just like us two” said Devin.

“Whatever” said Mellissa.

After awhile I thought that I should say he was my cousin or uncle or something. So, they won’t be mad and not leasing to us.

“Ok look I wasn’t going to say anything but...” Devin cut me off and didn’t let me finish.

He grabbed me from my arm and pulled me aside with Luis.

“What are you doing?” whispered Devin to me.

“I’m going to tell them that Luis is my cousin… so they wont think his just some random guy okay” I said . I turned back and went up to the other two.

“Luis is my cousin. I didn’t notice it until a while but he is and well we haven’t seen each other in a while so I didn’t want to say anything. That’s why Luis is more than just a stranger his part of my family so treat him like me” I said.

I walked out and started to walk towards the woods. Of course I toke some guns and ammo also a little food. Then I noticed that Devin and Luis were following me but at first I jumped and pointed the gun at them they also jumped they didn’t expect me to aim at them I guess. But then I put my gun down and kept on walking.

Then I spotted a couple of old houses it looked like a very old village, so I stopped. I stared at it and looked around it a little bit to see if there was any movement. But it looked dead like everyone else in this weird creepy town or whatever it was.

Devin and Luis also brought a gun which I obviously should have known. And they both had back-packs which I guess they did the same thing I did like packing food, two guns, and ammo. Since I always got lost I wouldn’t be surprised if I got lost this time so I decided to pack a few things.

“Sooo, what we do?” asked Devin.

“WE go and check the houses out” said Luis.

“Are you crazy” said Devin.

“No, actually is a good idea. We can’t stay on that storage house forever we will have to move sometime you never know when they’ll find us” I said.

“Yeah but this are houses! They would find us here faster then at the storage. And they might not be anyone here but later?” said Devin. He looked worried and depressed. He was always smiling, protective and concerned but I never seen him like this. At least I was still the same… outside.

We walked in the first house then the second and the next and the next they were all the same empty and old.

Then we walked into the last house on the left once we entered we heard someone whimpering in a closet. It was made out of brown wood and it looked like a dresser except that it was a closet.

We pointed our guns to the closet and Luis quietly opened the closet door. It was a girl. She looked just like Luis but some how different. Her eyes were the same as Luis but her hair was red with white highlights instead of blond and she looked less tan then Luis.

“Sis” scream Luis in excitement.

She couldn’t answer her mouth was taped and she was tied up.

I quickly pulled out some succors out of my back-pack and cut the tape on her mouth.

“Go their going to come back! They always do.” Said the girl.

“Is okay we have guns” said Luis trying to comfort her.

“That rope is very thin you may be able to cut it with the scissors” I said.

After a few minutes she was loose.

“I’m Lisa” the girl said.

“And of course she’s my sis” said Luis.

“By the way if we get back with the others” I got cut off again but this time it was Lisa who cut me off.

‘Others? Your zombies?” said Lisa in terror.

“Of course not their only human but their only five of us and now six.” I said.

“Okay good” said Lisa.

“Do you know how to use a gun?” asked Devin.

“Yes” said Lisa smiling.

They stared at each other for a while it was irritating.

I coughed but it was fake of course.

“I got one here, please use the bullets wisely we don’t have many” I said.

We returned back to the storage. Legarious was staring at us while we came in.

 Mellissa in the other hand was sleeping.

“Who’s this?” asked Legarious.

“A friend Luis’s sister’ I said.

“Really” said Legarious looking at her up and down occasionally while she sat down.

A very interesting chapter. A safe zombie friend. I would be weary. I like the story. Making the story feel real with logic with food and shelter. A strong chapter. I look forward to see where you are taking the story.
