Mother's loveA Poem by Sunny Skyerough draftFifteen when I found out I was pregnant Sixteen and I’m having this baby In this hospital bed I hole her She looks back at me With those beautiful brown eyes I see her love I will not give her away I will keep her and raise her to be my own The guy I’m married to Her father holds my hand with a smile He has tears in his eyes and I see the love Twenty-one on my third year of college I come home in the morning to see My beautiful six year old daughter She runs to me and yells “Mommy” Who could’ve known I would love her so much Thirty-two and living with the same guy happily I see my daughter graduate with no mistakes High honors and six medals All A’s and twenty colleges pleading for her Five scholarship offers already taken Happily I cry and I’m happy I’ve learned how it feels To be a mother There is no love more powerful Then a mother’s love. © 2012 Sunny SkyeAuthor's Note
