Politicians

“Drink the Kool-aid” my father said.

Eat the bullshit all the politicians say.

They never answer our questions

Damn it is only a yes or no answer.

They go around it and ignore it

While we sit there wondering,

When is the answer coming?

Yet we go and vote

For those who will bring us down

They’ll make sure we drown

Republicans want to run the world

While the rest try to swim to shore.

Nice poem.
Sometimes I think people need to make more than the decision of who gets to make the decisions in a "democracy", and at least then they'd surely not be able to complain about what those with power do anymore.
As is, you need to vote for the better of two (or more) evils, or change the system.
Getting people to think is a good start. But nowehere near enough, sadly.

I have a hard time with Politicians. They passed 40 bills last year in 200 days of work. Got pay the house of Rep. 1.2 billion dollars for nothing. I'm old school. Less government and business/religion need to be separated from government. I tell the young. Best know what is going on. Our leaders are sinking our ship and few are complaining. Thank you for the excellent poem. Made me think.
