Why?

Why are you afraid of love?

Is it because it has hurt you?

 

Because it has drove past me,

Came back, ran me over, left

then spat in my face and tore

me open slowly and laughed.

Bad experiences can scar us forever. The trick is to not give up on something good just because it turned out to be not as good as it appeared at first, but to look forward to getting in that car and enjoy the ride.
