You're that person
Who found me when I was lost
And you gave me a reason
To give it my best, whatever the cost

You made me happy
Created great memories
There's so much you taught me
You washed away my worries

You knew me better then I did
And we're the first I'd call
You knew everything I hid
And picked me up when I'd fall

But then things changed
And we split apart
No words exchanged
You tore my heart

I felt alone
Couldn't feel anything
I should have known
Not to make you my everything

Why did I trust you
Why did I believe
When it didn't even matter to you
Since all you did was leave

You said it was forever
But it didn't last
It was more like never
A picture from the past

Sure you made me better
But only for a while
Then you made me bitter
You took away my smile

I wish I could forgive
I wish I could forget
And maybe have something left to give
But you took all that you could get

So now I try to get rid of the sting
I wait and see
What the futur might bring
Someday I'm sure, I will be me.

it's not bad. can't tell you what it's missing to give it that extra kick, i'm not a very popular writer myself so i'm not one to criticize or advise much, but there it is.

yep. and as far as spicing it up goes, i think it's more than just being a good writer, but more a matter of either taking more time than seems neccessary to get it out properly, or even just the right inspiration at the right time. most of my best poems come to me when i'm trying to sleep at 3:00 A.M. lol.
