Close Your Eyes!

You want to close your eyes,

and pretend that everything is okay.

That you are not losing your mind.

That for once your truly happy.

But you can't close your eyes.

You need to watch around you. 

Watch as the people around you smile.

Act like you can too.

You can smile,

You can laugh,

but what about for real?

Do you really feel that way?

I truly hope you do.

Because the dark,

it can be very haunting.

Hey BlackHeart! I'd been wanting to get around to reading your poetry, and this is a good one! I can relate to this, honestly, as I've gone through periods of depression. And it's a difficult thing to express, as well as understand.

As for critique on the poem itself, I did notice one small spelling error in the fourth line - where it says "That for once your truly happy," it should be "you're." I noticed that you said you have difficulty with spelling, and I don't fault you for that. But other than that, it sounds good.

I also was debating over the title...although you mention wanting to close your eyes in the poem, it seems like it has a different overall theme. Obviously, this is up to you, but I somehow feel like the last two lines are the most important.

Perhaps the title should reflect not just closing your eyes, but what the overall meaning is. Does that make sense? It's a tricky thing, I know.
