Infection

Infection

A Poem by SkinlessFrank

Sometimes when I'm bored
I like to take a pencil and
insert the tip into my ear

I'll scrape around in there
and dig out the wax
and sniff at it

The odor reminds me of
a mildly sweaty underarm
or a dishrag
Kinda earthy
with a touch
of mould
or something

So last night I tried something new

I slid a ballpoint pen in about an inch
It hurt like crazy at first
and there
was a lot of blood
as well as some clear fluid that
ran down my neck

But after a while
the pain subsided,
and I decided to see
how much farther
I could slide
the thing in

I surprised even myself

The shaft went it easily
with
only a bit of resistance
when it happened to
encounter
some spongy tissue
in there

Finally I rammed the remaining two inches in
...whacking my ear against the wall

Now if you peer in closely
you can see just the end
of the red plastic,
floating there
like a glass bead

it's beginning
to throb a bit
and
feels hot
inside

I
and don't feel
so well
either

But
in my soul I
have that special feeling
like the day my
first child was
born

Geeeze, and you say you just started making this stuff up a couple of months ago? Are these sick ideas that filled your head as a child.....curious thoughts that now live vicariously through your penning!? You are freakin awesome, you don't suppress nothing!

-- hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... i apologise profusely for laughing hysterically... but the tone of the narration is just so amazing that i can't help it... and suddenly... i want to ask.. "was it a BIC pen?"... coz of another post of yours in which you mentioned a BIC pen... :p

-- this post reminds me of why i refer to india as a loony bin country... -- i think we are the home of the quintessential non sequitur... everyone dabbles in them... i can imagine you at the IGI airport interacting with indians in india (not the super intelligent types in academia)... thinking of this poem... and knowing how brilliant it is... and it also reminds me of the description of enlightenment here... it's called 'thoughtless awareness'... -- it seems that people are most aware of themselves when they have no thoughts... (and now i'm laughing hysterically again)... :p

-- thank you so much for re-publishing this post, maestro d. ... you're a genius and it's great to read a genius... who writes scientific allegories... -- it's a privilege to read ya...

-- ah... thank you for sharing... i guess i wouldn't be a misfit in your group... :p
I used to blog as a poet, and I would come across these 90s born cutting addicts, I marveled at how bizarre and foreign their fascination to feel was and how pain for them was the only way to achieve that.

I have to admit, the first 3 stanzas really made me laugh! I can pick any one of say 40 poets on here, and go to their latest work, and now I know, exactly what to expect! Well done.

Trepanation by ballpoint pen.................. and they say the dark ages are past us...

"always better out than in" Shrek

.... the first child... to me it was more like a sucking sound, rapidly draining my cranium of any matter left whatsoever.... but then, to each their own.

Sick and disturbing, and I did the dark laugh again. You have taken the taboos we know and love and slashed them to ribbons. I love it.
