seeds

seeds

A Poem by SkinlessFrank

i’ve left

bean pods

on the plants

to dry

tiger lily

capsules to mature

achenes on the lettuce

tomato and pepper

fruits in the sun

the frosts will arrive

next week

but the freezer

is full now

and the seeds

will sit in jars

resting

the work of

so many before me

i will never be able

to repay them

Often we forget the bounty that is nature; even more often and blindly so, we abuse this beautiful gift of a planet.

We are a foolish species.

Beccy.

You say things in such a straightforward, honest manner. Not as dark or disturbing as many of your other works.

you tell it so good, Dan, always full of life and heart, just a seedy old guy...

~ i have never read such a beautiful expression of infinite gratitude... ~ somehow i am reminded of musicians and how much i owe them for helping me... ~ one rarely pauses to acknowledge those who are responsible for all that we have and all that we will have... but i am pausing right now... with your gem of a poem... and thanking everyone i ought to thank... in my heart... ~ thank you for writing this symphony...
