the spring-fed pond

the spring-fed pond

A Poem by SkinlessFrank

the pump

is working again

it took the

better half of

a day to

place it back into

its little shed

prime it

with water

from the stream

and put the

pipe back

from 20 m below

the garden

the spring fed pond

it draws from

is a small miracle

and I wonder from

where comes this

cold dark water

that the tadpoles

and frogs love

i’m careful to draw

up only a bit of

this liquor

into the garden

dripping it slowly

for a hour a day

just enough to

quench the

roots thirst

no more

~ wow... loved the magical appearance of the word "liquor" and every image that led to it... ~ it takes an infinite amount of skill and sensitivity to make a word sparkle this way... ~ i remember reading something where an expert on languages said that "to stress the stressed, we have to unstress the unstressed"... ~ in many of your writes, i notice this... though i'm only mentioning this today... and i love the message too... ~~ your phenomenal respect for natural resources is inspiring beyond measure... and i think your poetry is powerful because you truly live like a poet... ~ that's the kind of life i hope to build... in the very near future...
