Sometimes, we don't even realize how far we have come.
It feels like just yesterday when they were born and its graduation time....and more.
I felt the wonderment, pride and joy in your words.
I find this poem very comforting. My two all time favorite books are Anne of Green Gables and Little Women. Both stories about families and how we survive and thrive in the midst of hardship. There are the families we are given and the ones we are gifted, in a sense. We never know how the future will fall, but when we sit amongst the moment and feel a sense of okayness it seems like a true gift. Those stories that are my favorites are so because they gave me hope of goodness when I found it hard to believe in goodness. I think sometimes our own lives surprise us in that way. The light falls on an afternoon and we see how surprisingly golden it all is. The beauty of things we never imagined; the peace of simple things that are also, finally, miraculous. This is a lovely poem.

They are so important to hold onto. Sometimes much of the rest of life seems like dredging around in muddy, cold water, coming up with nothing. Thanks for your perceptive comments.
Love shines through in every line of this quite beautiful poem. My sister has given our mother and father two lovely grand daughters, while I have gifted them a grandson, my beloved Charlie.
serah said, 'sheer magic.' I have no better words to add.
-- sheer magic... -- they are your poetry in the world of life... and you've given them wings... and now they write their poetry and fly independently and exude the true beauty of spirit and warmth... and you read it and experience the purest kind of amazement... -- thank you for sharing this incredible happiness with your readers in your uniquely spectacular way...
I like poems like this where it seems like the reader just steps into the author's memories; it really helps set a reflective vibe in my opinion. I like how the thoughts just flow in this, almost randomly. It makes the poem feel incomplete, but at the same time, just perfect. Though I admit, poems with such characteristics usually don't just strike me; however, they still make for a delightful read, especially when they are of this length. Thanks for sharing.
