insect politics

insect politics

A Poem by SkinlessFrank
"

(with apologies to mr cronenberg)

"

at the filth buffet

the ear mites

huddle while

poignant noodle

holds back

the skin tags

that flutter

like jellyfish

in the dental dam

the cockroach’s hymen

silky and lustrous

beckons to

buttery beetle flesh

finally unleashed

OK, no more buffet meals for me. I'll forever be looking for those roaches hymen. Now how sick is that?
You really know how to mess with a person"s mind.

Birds do it, bees do it, roaches chillin' out with fleas do it...a wonderful juxtaposition of imagery and some of our lesser friends in the insect kingdom. Wry, witty in the classic sense of the word.

Reading your poem my mind cannot but visualize the buffet of filth and the insects crawling over it. Crisp and concise. The way the words just roll over each other like in : 'the cockroach’s hymen, silky and lustrous beckons to buttery beetle flesh' also suggests a world of filth.

Well done. Could you read me.

i'm sorry, d, as often happens when reading your work, i burst out laughing at something that maybe wasn't meant to be funny. but truthfully, i don't detect any dark undercurrents running here -- it's juss plain fun w/such creative 'filth,' --- hahaha. gotta love skin tags. and frankly, i think mr. cronenberg might be jealous. :)
