Nature's half acre

Nature's half acre

A Poem by SkinlessFrank

a silverfish once

crawled

into the side

of my mouth

when I was asleep

the eggs she laid there

glistening

and plentiful

her children filled

my body cavities

invaded organs

turned them

to black tar

and hot maroon

liquid

and still I

move forward

zombie-like

not caring

simple words, molded into simple images, provoke the strongest impact. A very good example of choosing one's words wisely. The mortal vessel at rest, slumbering, invites all manner of transient trespasses... wouldn't you say SK?

This is so disturbing, yet I reread it. The picture is so vivid and I definitely felt creepy inside. Good job. 👍

dream like, almost futuristic, almost like a painting that grabs you by the shirt collar and pulls you into the oils
