A Poem by SkinlessFrank

she

came into

my bedroom

holding

a fishhook

and a plastic glove

and

in her

calmest voice

explained that

yes

it would

have to

come out

that

mass of

shrimp

pulled

from deep within

my ear

bloody

left me

barren

and a little

giddy

but

there are times

when i still

feel

it

pulsing

blue veins

tail flapping

scent of

algae

salt

my back

sprouts a fin

and the wound

heals

As surreal a reality as ever was or perhaps, the revers. Have pictures swimming my mind now; strange how words can turn the imagination upside down along with thought. Can't help wondering if you were caught in the act, about to take a chance but .. fate had other plans ..

Yes.....in flagrante delicto....but fate always interferes

Fate plays games with destiny, as does my spelling when reviewing!
at first read its quirky and fascinating - a deeper take and it is still fascinating - an original perspective on the catch and the catcher - and your vocab is well - I read this out loud and just savored the way the poem sounds....masterful
