the pig who joined Mensa

the pig who joined Mensa

A Poem by SkinlessFrank

he was just that

a fetal pig

but not the kind you dissected

in high school biology

and oh boy

was he was lazy

he loved his corn

and in darker moments his snout

it would smoulder

the professors postulated that

he must be "off-gassing"

but the more cynical ones

would only mutter beneath their breath

“i bet he’s just doing that on purpose”

now the men in suits

they were just plain jealous

they’d posture and scheme

all the better to be the one who’d get to

"hunker down" with him

maybe mess with his loins

so now they’re all reading dictionaries

and memorizing quadratic equations

never mind the smell

but the pig

he’s just happy

making puddings

and trying not to think

about how little time is left

We're all just bacon after all.
SF, you have this uncanny ability of taking the plain visual and transmogrifying it into something both sublime and blasphemous at the same time.
"off-gassing" another term for showing off? lol

Lambs to slaughter, pigs to slaughter, I guess somehow it all gets "cured" in the end...
I like this one.

I was always told..... never teach a pig to sing....... it wastes your time and annoys the pig. See what happens when Porcine education gets out of hand.
Wonderful.
