We're all just bacon after all.
SF, you have this uncanny ability of taking the plain visual and transmogrifying it into something both sublime and blasphemous at the same time.
"off-gassing" another term for showing off? lol
Lambs to slaughter, pigs to slaughter, I guess somehow it all gets "cured" in the end...
I like this one.
-- i'm (yet again) taking the liberty of personalizing this brilliant piece of writing to suit my thoughts... -- it reminds me of why i have a problem with 'the theory of karma' which states that human beings who do wrong will be reborn as animals... -- this kind of contempt for animals is just too astounding for me to digest... -- in this piece, what i find most remarkable is the end... (the last four lines)... -- the pig is obviously more enlightened, more in the present moment, trying to focus on what he has while humans are plotting his end... (for whatever purpose)... -- it's not that i don't get that human beings have to experiment in order to discover new scientific truths... -- it's just that they ought to be infinitely indebted to pigs, guinea pigs, rats etc. etc. who can be a part of all kinds of experiments... legally... and can thus help in healing various debilitating diseases and ailments... (among other things)... -- and this piece also reminds me that other than human beings, all living beings are atheists... -- they don't give sermons on how to live in the present moment and value all that one has... they walk the talk... -- that's why i feel strange when i hear people saying... "don't behave like an animal"... because i'd much rather be an animal... because most human beings i've come across are just too inhuman and ungrateful...
-- thank you for writing this phenomenal insight into the human psyche and of course the psyche of animals or those human beings who'd rather be animals...
I had to look up Mensa, lol, I thought it was a constellation, and it is, but apparently it is also and alter AND a "genius society" :) Pigs and humans, I read somewhere that we share over 100 DNA mutations and some of their gene families are more "evolutionarily evolved" than humans...shrugs, I got a D in biology. I'm very sensitive to smells hahaha Pigs can suffer from dementia and some say that what separates man from pig is that they will wallow in their own s**t and they will eat anything, including man. Scratching my head...again, I'm not "educated", but ummm...I'm not seeing the difference there
As always, a very interesting read here, SF :)
You just have to read something with a title this awesome. I am excited to imagine how his little trotters held a pen in order to pass the intelligence test although -- of course! -- he had an interpreter for his body language and was allowed to push blocks around with his snout.
That pig is pretty clever, or dumb to think how little time is left... lovely opposite here, in the ending :D wow, dear poet and señor, you really make this a visual art canvas here. Remembering now some piggy movies, casted in Holywood ofcourse.
I like the irony, shameless perfection, and brilliant wink.
As always, you made a smile on my face.
...and this little piggy had roast beef... years ago i worked in a casino kitchen and the amount of quality left over food the pigs would get, whole cream cakes, lashings of meat and left over potatos and vegs i don't think they do so very badly!!! may even be nice to a pig!!!
