Fall's Color BoxA Poem by Sharon KimAutumn leavesFall’s
Crayon Box Summer’s
swelter slips away Slowly,
sun-kissed leaves begin to change The
cool greens of summer make way for the warm colors of fall. Like
a child’s crayon box spilled over the treetops The
leaves proclaim their colors- Maroon,
Scarlet, Radical Red, Brick Red, Outrageous
Orange, Sunset Orange, Burnt Orange, Sunglow,
Dandelion, and Goldenrod. They
glow against a curtain of Wild
Blue Yonder and Purple Mountains’ Majesty Until
the flames die out, leaving Chestnut,
Burnt Sienna, and Sepia In
a pile of crisp, crumbling leaves. © 2013 Sharon KimAuthor's Note
