Inner Darkness

Inner Darkness

A Poem by Skelasoldier

Even the purest of heart and able of minds cannot hide from what is prophesied

For a battle is waged within ourselves between our holy light and our darkest self

None can say without a doubt that what we fear is a moral drought

For darkness is found in the kindest heart and holy light in our darkest parts

For darkness does not overtake our light, it merely hides it from our sight

Excellent poem. Flows well. Very deep and created well.

This is great.
It talks about the inevitability of darkness in the human race,
but also the un-extinguishable light that we posses...
Good food for thought, I thank you :)

I very much enjoyed reading this and like how in flowed in general. The main part of the poem speaks of how there is darkness among everyone. Then, the final line seems to be like a small beacon of hope. It says that light can still be found, even in the darkness. It makes me think of Pandora's Box, in a way. Wonderful job on this. Again, I very much enjoyed reading it.

And darkness cannot live even in the shadow of divine light. Your point is very well made, it is a battle to linger in the light with so many dark forces at work.
This is a beautiful and intelligent piece I loved it, into my favs...thank you.
Cheers,

Helen :)
