... there is the idea that writing can provide the kind of world that reality denies you.
Hopes and dreams take on new forms and can be accomplished each and every day. The blank page is a symbol of both hope and forgiveness - a clean start, away from pain. Smiles return when you dive completely into the world of a book, or a poem, one you're reading or writing.
Let the joy of other worlds hold your hand when darkness visits your thoughts.
This poem reminded me of the song 'Welcome to my Life' by Simple Plan, a song that I used to listen to a lot when I was being bullied in high school. Have you heard of it?

I have walked the bad line. I never desire death. I desire new people and new places. I left three lives and places and begin anew. Many reasons to want to escape. Sometime a new surrounding can rebirth hope. The poem open the door to question. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Good to release pain and sadness to pen and paper.

Yup. I've been there as have thousands of others. It's a part of growing up and it's also a part of the desolate feelings many get after a severe loss.
This is nice and yeah, I know what it feels like. I was beaten, thrashed and worn out too so I can feel the pain of what recently took place on the poem. So, I understand

Yes - yes I am very familiar with this, Dreamer. There was only one lie I kept from my Dad when I was growing up and that is when he asked how I was doing and I replied, "I am doing fine."
Other than that I definitely kept my promise and was honest with him on everything. So - you are not alone in this.
As for being alone and feeling lost - our parents are always there for us. In your Autumn Years you will yearn for them, painfully. Take advantage of their wisdom and love NOW, while you are still with them ...
