To Kill The Sun

To Kill The Sun

A Poem by Jon Cooper
"

I hate the sun.

"

The Sun
How it burns
I can feel hell
Hell from its heat
From its glare
Hell
The sun is evil
The sun should be destroyed
How I hate the sun
My skin warm beneath its watchful eyes
Warmth
How disgusting warmth is
I long for the cold chills of winter
The sun becomes weak then
Cold
Cold skin
Mine
Anyone's
I wait and wait
The enigmatic feeling
I only hope
Wish
Dream
How I loath the sun
The bane of my existence
How it warms my dark heart
My bones
My spirit
I love the cold
The darkness
If only I could kill the sun
Destroy it
Remove it from the sky
From the horizon
From all life
I detest its warmth
Its crippling warmth
I crave darkness
Cold, isolated darkness
The soft, comforting cold of night
...of darkness
......of the sunless sky
I pray it's pulled from the sky
The fiery, burning thorn in my side
The overcast dark of evening ruling, succeeding
What an ocean of relief that would be
Would wash over me
No more sun
No more heat
No more despised daylight
Only cold
Only darkness
Only joy
...to tear it from the sky
......the kill the sun

I hate the world. I love art. I write nearly everything (except thoughts, which I write as they happen) under insomnia's rule. Nothing I write during the day contends with my sleep deprived work. My.. more..
