IrresoluteA Poem by EnigmaInhibitions, yes You wanted to destroy But not the heart that harbored them As every footstep you take I hear those millions of shards Shattering and crumbling Into dust Another nail, driven deep inside
Why does a touch of love Come with a wound of hate Or the itch of insecurity Or the feverish pride Burning heart and soul alike
Looking back, I wonder Should I let loose the tears of regret? Or welcome my fate with a silent acceptance I wonder what went wrong After everything that did go right
These damned thoughts Never keep their places Irresolute is the word
So I go back to picking up the pieces And pulling out the crimson pieces of metal To build the walls once again To build myself once again Protected, till the next impulse Of feeling alive Strikes me dead once more © 2012 EnigmaAuthor's Note
