Recreate the Perfection

Recreate the Perfection

A Poem by Enigma

Life

It lies there, trapped

Within the fading lines

Of all the perfect memories

In a face that held my gaze

A second too soon

And a moment too long

In those whispered words

A connection across continents

Or a silence that need not break

For his presence was but a series of faint breaths

In the reluctant understanding

Of growing up

And hesitant steps out into the world

Looking back to a pair of eyes

Watering pride and care

Why should I walk with my head turned?

My vision blocked with a past perfection

Of a life, now unreal

Let me step out and tread the unused trails

To discover the perfection not yet made

Love this line. Create your own path, Perfection is you being you. Thats the true definition of perfection. Of course your going to look back, its natural but dont stay in the past keep moving forward. Good writing loved it. Thankyou so much

Enigmatic Soul, your poems are just so beautiful they almost make me envious of your ability to describe emotions and feelings of longing and desire. So well done. Almost made me tear up myself (and that's hard to do.) J'adore! -Ian

I really enjoyed your poem. Good job! You've got to dance to your own drumbeat. Not care about what other's think of you. You're perfect, just the way you are. Flaws and all.

Beautiful.......I see this as someone who has picked up their head and their heart and said, Hey..why can't I move on? I must move on......and they do.....wonderful.

Beautiful and couragous poem!!! It takes courage to blaze new trails. I am guilty of recreating old perfections I admit. Maybe that means I need to try to bring back what once was mine..because I can not seem to let it go no matter how hard I try, and it is true you do have to let go of the past in order to blaze new trails. Love this poem! 100
