Lost Serenity

Lost Serenity

A Poem by Enigma
"

Prompt Poetry.

"

In some forgotten crevice

Buried under the routine worries

There lies my serenity

Pretty, precious serenity

The final draft

Any effort to locate is diverted

By the hungry mouths

Of deadlines and chores and greetings

And their insatiable greed for attention

A contemplative look

But a single one

And I would complete it

Make it a shield against the black hole of worries

Shining, and it will, from its burial ground

Some fine day, indeed...

A poignant revelation about loss of self to the endless seemingly meaningless. Survival, obligations, committments and generosity consume us, too much. A beautiful lamentation promising release, one day. I hover at the event horizon too, black hole's relentless tug. Nice write. Flows well.

This was a very well done prompt, if I do say so. How everything stresses us out and keeps us busy (yet insane) when underneath all that is some sort of peace and freedom that nearly never comes out. J'adore! -Ian

I love how you compress a wealth of opinion into those three lines. Indeed, as life is getting "modernized", we are beginning to lose touch with ourselves. The chaos of life now is a far cry from the peaceful environments we hoped to surround ourselves with. Very well written!

A beautiful poem about having serenity chased away from you from having to deal with a hectic life..yet shrouded in hope of its return :)

A play of the passions against the usual priorities of the day, not denying their importance but luring them to discover the joy of work in serenity. Nice write!
