Like the Rest

Fixes blame

Forgets responsibility

Drills the petty imperfections

Into dented faults

That can’t be mended

Always highlighted

Forget my successes

Remind me my failures

This is how the society works.

 

Lost and battered

Dreams and aspirations

Broken and scattered

No faith in my own beliefs

Standards become attitude

Not polite, but a sycophant

Unjustified outbursts of pain

Vain for being different

I can’t do this anymore

Can’t do nothing anymore

Can I?

Will I?

Push me east

Pull me west

Drive me insane like the rest

 

Did you wish me any good?

Same old rusted justifications

Forever set on replay

Blaring from every corner

And I sit

And I stare

My soul, my heart, my mind

Caged separately

Trying, seeking, dying

The corpse thrown out

Into the big bad world

Only to be tortured so

All over again

As they push it east

And pull it west

They drove me insane

Like the rest.

There are those in our lives that want to break us down and tear us apart. Many times they don't even realize the destruction they are trying to create. I call them toxic relationships. Some times we have to love people from a distance and many times we have to let go of those relationships in order to keep ourselves in an upright position. Life his full of many obstacles and blockages. We have to remove the blockage and keep moving forward on our feet or crawl if we must to read our full potential in life. No one is perfect and trying to be for someone else will never work. You have clearly stated the emotions and shown how some of these relationships work. I say embrace the small trivial things in life. It helps fill those big wholes that aren't filled in yet. Gives us something to look forward to each day. Like the warm sun or the feel of grass tickling between our toes.
