Law and Justice

Law and Justice

A Poem by Enigma

"

A grey sea of muddled thoughts

Orbs of burning conscience

Conflicts that seek an answer

But find none

A bottomless pit where the crimes are dumped

Over and over again

Never to be filled to the brink

The bright sunshine never reaches this deep

Lost in the humungous array of clouds

Floating matter of grey

You see the light

You notice the dark

But the difference never so stark

I am that tiny spark of life

Being the one to carry the burden

Of the illusory idea of justice

Thinking if I have ever been just myself

Weaving through the light and dark patches of life

Never completely white

Never totally black

Treading on the path in-between

Letting go of rich murderers

Convicting the lost souls

Suffocating the life out of their innocence

They are damned to follow the path

They preferred to relinquish

Have I been just enough

The deceptive power of a puppet

Held responsible for countless crimes

Of ignorance

Of cowardice

Of the doom it imposed on many

Buying the peace and freedom for one

Come forth, to the court of law

Where justice is served

Spiced and sauced according to your fees

It’s the law, not truth, that prevails

For justice is but a mistaken entity

It is not for you or for me

It is, but a deceptive dream

Prepare for the ultimate justice

When life deserts your body

For, in this world

We have the law.

Inspired from the following quote :-
"Justice?—You get justice in the next world, in this world you have the law." William Gaddis, A Frolic of his Own.

I accept that this writing is highly biased. Ah well.

Your poem is on a subject that open the door to a large discussion. We live in a world where money control the world. Law are needed. But life teaches us all is not fair.

We live in a world where lawyers destroy justice, and doctors destroy health. Where justice is misunderstood. Everything is so backwards.

Power here, biased or not. The law is not logical or should I say those that give the judgement on "points of law". Very interesting write, well worth the visit.

justice does reside in law courts
Law courts only deal in laws
Lawyers earn rich pickings circumventing laws
But none can esacape the all pervading law of karma

No answer to conflict. A bottomless pit of crimes that although filled and filled never overflows.......steeped in deep darkness. You see a spark who's name is justice. But in this world there is no justice.........only the law, but after this life...true justice will prevail. Excellent!

This was probably my favorite part in all that you wrote: "Thinking if I have ever been just myself
Weaving through the light and dark patches of life
Never completely white
Never totally black
Treading on the path in-between".
