A 1000 miles

A 1000 miles

A Poem by Enigma
"

Instant inspiration from the song 'A thousand miles' by vanessa carlton.

"

The faces are familiar

Those signs, they never change

Staring deep in my coffee mug

Wishing things were the same again

If I could spin this wheel of time

I’d go back so many days

Take back my words

Take out my time

Look deep in your eyes and say

You can need me anytime

You can want me anywhere

Baby, I’d walk a 1000 miles

Baby, I will be there

On burning sands or morning dew

No matter if I get bruises too

You know I’d walk a 1000 miles

To be there with you

The night has spread its wings

The sun has gone to bed

The hazy sparks from the past

Are flying everywhere

Dazzled as I may

I recognize the tune

You sang to me a love melody

In that warm summer june

Now that times have come to pass

I sit alone with my dreams

Cradling that flickering hope

Which is still unseen

And I need you all the time

And I want you every where

Baby, I’ll walk a 1000 miles

Be sure that I’ll be there

On burning sands or morning dew

No matter if I get bruises too

You know I’d walk a 1000 miles

Just to be with you

I was thinking of that song the whole time I was reading it :P

the only thing I'd change is the first stanza:

The faces are familiar
Those signs they never change
Staring deep in my coffee mug
I want things to be same again

should be:

The faces are familiar,
Those signs, they never change.
Staring deep into my coffee mug,
I want things to be the same again.

my only suggestion :P

I like it. It's very sweet, showing that the person will drop what she is doing and endure maybe painful things just to go be with the person that is loved/cared about. The font is a little difficult to read, though :-p

I like this poem. I like the desire to walk a 1000 miles to be with his love. I like the flow and the happiness in the poem. Thank you for a excellent poem.

I liked it--even though I don't really enjoy rhyming poems? The only line I had a problem with was "No matter if I lost a shoe." It kind of ruined a bit of the mystique? xD
Aside from that, I really liked it. Good job. :3
