Heart versus mind

For the group "Creative Poetry".

A lonely mind, it wanders

Unguided steps, it takes

In times of stressful thinking

How easily it is replaced

 

Gauche and senseless beings

Blinded by thoughts unsure

The logics and reasoning

Are shown the back door

 

The passions, so strong

Unknowingly addle the mind

Their unrelenting adamance

Avid and yet, sublime

 

A covenant that is broken

With emotions unleashed

Bright sparks that ignite

A calm, dead sea

 

Note the stream of thoughts

The cacophonous din

Know what really drives you

Ultimately, from within

I had to work a lot on the first verse. Back to rhyming, though. :)
