The Little OneA Poem by EnigmaA new subject that I tried to write aboutThere she rests In her pink cradle. Looking so innocent Like an angel Resting, unaware of all the goes on about. The prettiest thing I ever saw. A miraculous shine A glow that never leaves her face She rests And she smiles Dreaming of things She wants She needs Dreams of farway fantasies Will she ever know? That she was my dream My biggest dream That came true before my eyes Will she be able to know the extent To which I have stored the love for her In my heart My shrunken heart That just got so much bigger Her lips, as they parted To reveal a toothless smile To reveal the most beautiful smile They stretched my heart Expanded the boundaries
Will she know me? As a mother. As a woman. As me. Because I'm all. Yet right now. I'm nothing But a pair of eyes Glued to that little one's face. Resting Smiling Dreaming © 2011 EnigmaAuthor's Note
