I Quit

I Quit

A Poem by Enigma
"

It's not always necessary to carry on with something////

"

Sudden rush of emotions

Followed by the tears

Sudden wish for death

No more a puppet of fears

Eyes glistening

And moist cheeks

Hands shaking

Body...so weak

Mindless feelings

Nonsense thoughts

Bone-chilling

The nightmares I've bought

Dead cold

Yet burning inside

Defeated and lost

Can't carry on the fight

Humiliation and ridicule

All in my face

I'm a loser, a failure

I'm such a disgrace

Empty and alone

Just one desire

To hear you speak

To extinguish this fire

But ignorance has it

Or call it a mistake

We've been too indiferent

We've been so fake

Still the feelings rush to me

Excitement and despair alike

And I can't stand it anymore

I quit from this fight...

Awww, hon. I know how bad life can seem at times, but trust me, when you're going through hell, keep going because there has to be an exit somewhere.
You're seriously rapidly becoming a brilliant poet, and really excelling beyond your years. Your style is so unique it shines. This poem is very different from your usual and yet it's powerful and full of deep emotions and everyone can probably relate to it.
If you ever need to talk, I'm here. You're certainly not a loser or a failure, and if anyone tells you that then that's something they're insecure of in themselves.

I know what it feels like to just want to quit. Life does suck, but you have to admit, that somewhere at some point, there are good parts to it.

This poem is very well written, the rhyme and flow is great. And the emotion rns through beautifully!!!!!

Great job!!!!

At times, life does indeed smell pretty awful. But, you usually only have to hold your nose for a day or two and you'll find it smelling quite lovely once again. I've noticed that your poetry is getting better, Siya. I will say that you still need to work on your rhythm and flow, but overall it is becoming more mature and it stands on its own.

This is an excellent poem! I really like it. I've been there before... to that place inside where it just hurts all the time. But one thing we all have to remember is to NEVER give up the fight! Make someone take it from you, never surrender, never back down. Love the poem :D
