Hidden

Hidden

A Poem by Enigma
"

When I'm not feeling good, I teend to think myself as someone who's...not deserving of anything. After a bit of brooding I drift into my dream-world, but my thoughts about myself never change. That's what is reflected in the poem.

"

A hidden face

An existence barely noticable

Is what I feel I am

When I'm not stable

A darkened soul

A mindless brain

Immaturity and childishness

Is what, then, remains

A weak feeling

A meek strength

My shallow thoughts

They never end

My reality vanishes

Dreams take it's place

But there still remains

That strange hidden face...

Writers who can speak with your honesty will inspire others.
Always a quality of a fine teacher who has empathy for her readers.
Many such teachers I have known in my many years of teaching
would agree that you have that potential. As you know writing
is the best way to know yourself... the reward is becoming a
finer person. The courage to write for others to read is the
essence of personal power. I truly enjoyed your poem. sam

Yes it does match the description very well. We each have a demon or three to face and fight off and your description of "the strange hidden face" is spot on. It is the other "us" trying to beat us into submission, the only way to beat it is to acknowledge it and try to ignore it. For each negative - find a positive. It may never truly go away but with practice, you become the one in control.

you poem describes a sad unhappy place to be, but strength and hope will win out.

It seems to be circular write but that is fine because this is what your poem is saying, going round in ever reducing circles, until the blacknes and the hidden face take over.

You know what it is, be strong and fight.

cheers

The poem matches very well with the description and I know that place you mean all too well. Sometimes we become strangers to ourselves, but the most important thing to do in these situations is to do what you have done, which is acknowledge it. You can not change it, and though it may severely subside, at times, it can sometimes never go away. Just live through it and you'll once again begin to recognize yourself for who you'd like to be. Very great way to express yourself and face your "hidden face". We all have one! Nice write friend!
