A day to fulfil your dreams

A day to shine

A day to fight for something that's right

A day that's yours and mine

 

It's a new dawn...

A dawn to inspire you

A dawn; a ray of hope

The arrival of a new strength

The strength to cope

 

It's a new Sun...

The Sun to spread light of hope

The Sun which awakens

Your heart, mind, body and soul

And compells you to strive for your dreams

 

It's a new YOU...

Someone who is willed

Someone who is strong

Someone who loves unconditionally

Someone who knows what's right; what's wrong

Oh I like this. You capture that experience of feeling different (new) but not really having any way to prove it. I liked the repetition in general... it was like solidifying the proof; 'look at this day! look at this day!' My theory on repetition is that it should be assistive to the piece annd/or used for structure. Here it's more structure but allso very assistive. I think you could make it more descripive or even more meaningful if you were a little less structured in the first and fourth stanzas - I did get the borderline-redundant feeling. Maybe swap a line of beginning repetition for enjambment or a beginning adjective. I was particularly impressed that you matched beg. & end structure though... kinda like bringing the "full circle" concept into poetry structure. Also, good call with the caps o "YOU" - it's powerful. Good write!
