SilentA Poem by EnigmaI closed my eyes And he said "I will never give up on you" And he gave me up To the convenience of his world His beer and his friends
I closed my eyes And he said "I need you to be positive and just let it go" And positively enough He let me go And replaced me with girls More feminine More open-minded Not choked by the thousand knots that churn my insides Probably better friends And better lovers
I opened my eyes And he said "I am back, but only for a day" Only that he didn't I regret laying bare the wounds of my soul To be plugged in by the pieces of my heart He tore off And gave them back to me I am choked but I don't die
His words bring back A thousand unspoken sorrows And the empty promises of a better tomorrow His lies colour the truth of our separation With deceptively brilliant hues Of a love gone sour
We grow up We grow apart He builds his life I break my heart Over the emptiness he has left behind
I close my eyes And he is silent Once again. © 2014 EnigmaAuthor's Note
