Wreaths of silvery smoke Entwine my shapeless form Whisking me up Effortlessly Have I dissolved into the air? Have I finally let go Of my material mess of a life?
Clinking Interlinked curves Spiralling in a controlled chaos Rising far beyond, I know not where Because my eyes still search for my ground And panic rests at my feet Which grapple with airy unease
Suspended sparkles in the dark abyss They call on me To stand straight To breathe To see and hear and feel and touch Together Be awed Be terrified But behold what I can see Something I might not find in the grass and the dirt That my feet long for Or is it the cold granite floor And the cradle of plastic slippers
Frozen still Battling the curiosity against the fear Pitting the known against the unknown Who shall win?
The smoke dissolves The chains forsaken The flesh returns and brings with it the boiling blood And the weight of a thousand more souls Down, down, down
This is how you take one step forward And twice as many back
But my feet are ready to walk, still Maybe, tomorrow, I won't fall back
I found your deep and wide sentiment vastly engaging...our flesh form is a very small part of what actually grounds us, You have reminded this reader that motion is... no matter what the direction is...there are times when we need to go back to go forward, down to go up~ sometimes it's simply gravity...
I love the way you end your thought provoking creativity with hopefulness, Thank you for sharing

Excellent use of the prompt. Beautiful imagery, great flow. I love how this starts off dismal and ends on a positive note. There is so much in life that drags us down, pulls us under, tosses us back a few steps, but you remind us to keep trying to move forward. Well done!
"Frozen still
Battling the curiosity against the fear
Pitting the known against the unknown
Who shall win?"
I enjoyed the poem. I had to read a few times. I like how you bring life to your thoughts in the poem. I like the way you led the reader to the hopeful ending. No easy road. Just hope we land on our feet and keep going forward. No weakness in the outstanding poetry.

Hi, I'm Preeti. Nice to meet you!
I found this place around the same time I found my love for writing. To be honest, it was a time back when I could write. And I did, oh so much. I found words to b.. more..
