Game On People

Well, I wrote this poem for all of those beautiful memories I've shared with video games. They have been my friends since childhood ^^ They have a lot to teach :)

Many years I've spent with video games
And even today I remember all of their names
Heroes who came to my aid in childhood,
Giving me hope like no one could.

Their little, surreal actions had so much to teach,
Oh, I remember how 'Mario' saved 'Peach'!
From castle to castle he'd go in search for her
Such a valiant effort then never did occur.

Then again 'Princess Zelda', was saved by 'Link'
Into this game anyone would sink,
The tale told of a hero who found his true self
As far as I remember, he looked like an elf.

And then comes my favorite character-'Solid Snake'
Tactical and swift, no sound he'd make!
The spirit of a spy within me he'd wake,
C.Q.C. and disarming for the world's sake.

Pokemon was the game which taught me to go
Through the depths of the unknown,
Adorable creatures with mystic powers
Though some are fierce and would devour,
Any obstacle in their masters' path
With friendship and bonds they grew stronger,
To foes they'd show their wrath.

A game called 'Street Fighter' was famous then
In which there'd be combat,
Between pretty ladies and strong men!
I adapted new reflexes-when to dodge, when to kick,
When to punch and when to duck
It wasn't a game of luck,
But skill,
And the power of will.

Last but not least, 'Final Fantasy'!
Truly a world of dreams and surreality.
The tales were so beautiful,
They'd win over my heart
A search for the divine crystal shards,
Oh yes I remember!

Those were just a few games that I loved
I was a listener of their stories,
I found what they served
Neither king, nor queen did order them around
Or legendary strength to them was bestowed.
But what they did was follow their hearts
And strive for their victory,
Took the first steps to start
A very long journey, for serenity.

Many years I've spent with video games
And even today I remember, all of their tales.
