A Fake Entity

A Fake Entity

A Chapter by Sivgat Hasan

We went down the left hallway, at the end of which we went through a door. We seemed to have come to a sort of dining hall.
Rohan asked loudly, "Hello! Is anyone here?"
From below a few round tables, came out 7 or 8 infected. We aimed at them. They stared at us. At once, did they begin to cross the tables and come towards us. We aimed, and shot right at them. They still kept coming. They were closer now and so we managed to shoot the remaining at their heads-head shots were the exact way to kill infected-the normal ones. They immediately died. We searched the dining hall, there was nothing-no one. We went to the counter and found a letter. It was by a person called James Daniels, so was written! We were much excited to find a letter pinned to the notice board in the counter. After reading it, we found out that the letter indeed carried an important message. We were psyched up! On that piece of paper was written :
"To anyone who may have breath in their lungs and survived.
Get out of the hotel! This hotel is nothing but a dead end. Get out of here now! The hotel is overrun, no survivors. A few miles West of where you are now, there is a minor outpost formed by survivors from here and there, or so I have been told. I am headed there with my brother and friend. Seems like survival is harder than one can think eh? Godspeed my friend, Godspeed.
                                                                                                  -James Daniels"
This was a message which told us that there were still others alive and that a possible shelter for survivors was formed West of here. A place where survivors might be held up.
I said, " I guess we have a destination now huh? " Rohan said, "Ah man you said it! We might have a chance after all!"
We were at once filled with over-excitement as we quickly made our way out of the hotel. Rohan started up the car and we hopped on. We drove out west. Slowly, the sun came down and darkness await our path.
Nightfall!
We were still on the road. Rohan was a good driver-saying again, for he indeed was. We were nearly there. On our way, we spotted a small cottage on the side of the high way. We hoped to spend the night in it for it was too very late-the heart of a night, though at first we had to find out if it was secure. Rohan parked the car near the cottage and we got down. We slowly approached it. We could see no light from within, signifying that there may not be any survivor inside. It was indeed very dark inside, as we could not see anything as we tried to gaze through the small windows. I knocked the door very calmly. No answer came.
Rohan said, " Arman, kick it open eh?"
Arman nodded and blasted the door open with his strong kick! We didn't know what to do as it was impossible to see anything! We had an unclear sense of view then! What we required was light. Arman said that his mother always kept a flash light inside the car's bonnet. Shamerul and Shaherul, escorted by Arman, quickly went to grab it as Rohan and I stood at the entrance of the cottage.
Then, Rohan whispered to me, " My brother, do we really have any hope? Even if we find these survivors, do you think we can make it out of this hell of a country alive?"
I thought for a while and said,  " There is always hope Rohan and you know that more than anyone! What we need to do next is find these survivors and contribute, we have to take our country back do you not think so? We survivors are all that is left. If humanity needs to stand a chance, we have to keep on fighting, surviving. But first of all, let us go with the flow shall we and try to find out anything valuable which might aid us to go forward. Maybe something valuable is in this land we stand on. Let us hope for the best."
 Rohan nodded.
Then, Shaherul, Shamerul and Arman came back with the flashlight. Rohan and Arman went inside. The three of us stood outside, hoping that they would give us some good news. I patted the heads of Shamerul and Shaherul, as they were doing a very good job They were strong.
Shamerul then said, "Eh!" and acted like a cool guy.
Shaherul on the other hand liked the patting. Then, Rohan and Arman came out. Rohan said, " No survivors, everything is very bloody and terrible inside, not possible to pass the night here you see?"
I asked, "Did you guys find anything else?"
They managed to loot some gallons of fuel for the car and some match boxes. After we took all that we needed, we quickly noticed something. Behind the cottage, countless infected were slowly approaching us through the fields. Infected were coming.
We were stunned to see so many of the dead walking towards us! We ran to the car and hopped o , as Rohan started the engine in a few seconds. We drove out! We were scared, yet again. Slowly, the sun began to rise once again and we were found to be on our way to this minor outpost, on to a new day.
