Summers End

Summers End

A Poem by Siv

The flavour of summer has changed.
The clouds rolled in to let me know
that soon the ground will be covered in snow.

The trees sigh, the flowers bow,
the harvest waits the farmer's plough.
It is time for the night to sing its song
and bend the days to sing along.

While we watch this summers end
and taste the autumn on its breath,
we gather its bounty in our arms
and lay the ground so soon to rest.
