Raving Against River's Flow

Raving Against River's Flow

A Poem by Sergei
"

The only honourable death is in having lived truly

"
Life-giving orb flares and burns
as passionate beings, so too do we yearn
like sun, to have meaning and give meaning
to make of this life more than just a reading
but a play, making of this earth a stage
where, as beasts, we rage against the cage
trapping and taming our wild hearts;
nothing invigorates quite like tragic art

Life-giving orb flares and burns
despite vast libraries, we've yet to learn
that silent and complicit is no way to go
only ranting and raving against river's flow:
to be carried away by uncaring stream
is true death - oh, but to dream!
to accept and conform with bowed head
to this we say no, and drink instead

Life-giving orb, set and sleeping, for now
has already sown its hotly inspired seeds
and these shall we impolitely plough
until all movement and thought is gone, indeed
