Ode To Sleeplessness

Ode To Sleeplessness

A Poem by Sergei
"

Navigating the swamp of insomnia

"
with tired eyes, and boots of lead
through unsleeping swamps I do tread
marsh gas ignites, fairy lights
beckoning to distant lands of respite
yet no slumber there I do find
no peace, no rest for troubled mind
questions arise, born of childlike curiosity
here lies life and death of all clarity
alone amidst trees that in silence scream
yearning for peace, that faraway dream
I wade through waters, heavy with dread
alas, I sink, with boots of lead

if found, I beg, do not wake
slumber, a choice -- life, a selected mistake‎
