Unapologetic, Unwavering, Uncouth

Unapologetic, Unwavering, Uncouth

A Poem by Sergei
"

The contrast between how you see yourself and how the rest of society sees you

"
I stand and glance at the glass wall
between you and me

I see a reflection, a being in all manners excelling
he knows no fear or craving
for love and affection
all he wants he has, embodying Platonic satisfaction
no apology taints his lips
his being is with no subtraction
not a fraction
a defensive action
to the allergic reaction
society has to his indefatigable perfection.

The wall is no wall: I see a glimmer
what? ...
A two-way mirror

You see the man you want to see
an obedient, decent
fella with a full lease on
life;
or,
the life you envision
for him.

grip his spirit with both hands...

With a grim precision
you lift the rough and tender blade of circumcision
and in it, make an undetectable incision
placing within it your cold rescission
of accepting any decision
he has made in full
unadulterated
unhindered
autocracy.

the man visible to you cries tears invisible
for his spirit,
contained within the mold you have crafted,
remains indivisible.
Unapologetic, unwavering and uncouth
he rips apart to cries of "Mistake!"
the mold, that ark
that bore him on a sea of heartache
