"Day of Love"A Poem by Sir_AnonymousI wrote this last Valentine's... Notice some of the sentences I say in the middle and end.Ah yes the infamous Valentine's Day ; the day where even the non-believers stand together to pray to the omnipotent man in the sky.
All to recieve good fourtion in life's game the majority call by the name love. Women and men alike wear their inner heart exposed on their sleeve to depict the scene they expect to receive.
Well all expectations aside the vile non-imagitve scene I am practically forced to see just hanging by each corner. Some guy and girl acting like zombies eating each other's face out while leaning against my damn locker door.
I try to fake a bright smile and say a "Excuse me?" and the guy says something "Original" and "Oh so-oo witty." "You're excused."
Now I feel my blood boil and I shove them aside to the floor open my locker forcibly and knock the failed comedian back down and off his high horse.
Heading towards my class I hear the same ear cringing noise ; two sentences the usual "I love you." or the scapegoat for those who hold no real confidence to name of "Will you be mine?"
Rose petals dance across below my feet so much crimson I nearly believed my heart would leap from my chest's grasp to paint the remaining white on the tile floor.
Looking through the masses seeing their mouths move no doubt discussing the same dinner plans. All while the Eve to her Adam holds not an apple in her hand's but both a pair of cheap flowers and chocolate with a cut out price tag.
Reluctantly looking down I notice I too donned the color red from what I guess to be my festive instinct kicking in... However deep down I know.... I know I am one those fools expecting a change whilst holding on to my sleeve should my inner heart throbe and scream.
To try and turn tail and run from me while it still is holding my botteled up emotion's inside.
Now in motion towards the girl, head's swirling a storm leaving me sick with intruding butterflies. All of this just from catching a glimpse of her ever so beautiful iridescent eye's.
I see no real chance of victory to follow through. Just picturing that two letter word that will further puncture my bleeding heart. yet I still hold a glimmer of hope.
Rose in hand here goes nothing ...*Ahem* "Happy Valentine's and would you be mine?"
