The Bandage

The Bandage

A Poem by Merle Van Dee

No longer the dagger in my heart,
   The wound gone
Scar remains.

The stitches used to pin my heart back together
Now holding the smile on my face.
The love you took
Was a dagger to my heart,
But a bandage to my soul.

Almost perfect...just needs a bit of tweaking.
First paragraph, you need "scar" rather than "scare"? Though both would work.
Second paragraph would read better with purer verbs:
The stitches that pinned my heart back together
now hold the smile on my face

but I will say, I enjoyed this very much.
