The Eye Painter

The Eye Painter

A Poem by Merle Van Dee

Gemstone eyes
    A desired prize
Emerald Greens
   Sapphire Blues
Many sizes
   Many hues.
All speak to me
     Of truth and lies
Heartfelt despair.
   Eons of learning
Hide behind each pair.
     The Pine Greens
Speak of an Earth before us
     Deep Blues
Spill ocean secrets to me
     Honey Browns
Stay out all night long
   Speaking secrets
Only shared in lover's sheets.
They all tell me their tales
The Eye Painter gave each a path
   Woes and mountain top views.
I am here just to adore,
    Rainbows of eyes
I explore.
     Delve into each soul
Plummet into the wars raging within
For I am the Eye Reader
Explorer
   Healer.
Point them at me
     And we can begin.
