Captivated

Captivated

A Poem by Sir Fusting
"

I haven't written any poetry in quite awhile! I would love to know what you think.

"

So it seems it's that time of year once again,
The frost on my breath and rustle of leaves,
Confirming my suspicions.
Indigo skies coated with lackluster gray clouds,
The dying trees saying farewell until next year,
It's all too familiar.
Soon comes the blankets of snow highlighting the land,
Not a sound in the world disrupts the infinite tranquility,
So untouchable.
And so once again I'll get lost in the beauty,
Trying to unravel the sounds, the smells, the taste,
The heartbreak it brings.
For too many years have I wondered and wandered,
But the answers nature holds continue to evade me,
And I'm left to dream.
A peaceful dream, filled with quiet songs,
Begging that I leave it all a mystery,
And once more,
I shall agree.
And you shall leave me,
Softly, quietly,
Captivated.

Oh wow I loved this. You've captured the beauty of winter that I love so much. It's also quite heart breaking because it gives details so well. And winter is a breath taking site. I feel like I just sold my soul.
